Lê Văn Ngọ, better known as Hoàng Vân (July 24, 1930 – February 4, 2018), was a Vietnamese composer. He had a prolific creative career with successes in many genres, especially songs about economic sectors and various localities. His notable works include “Bài ca xây dựng”, “Hò kéo pháo”, “Người chiến sĩ ấy”, “Quảng Bình quê ta ơi”, “Tôi là người thợ lò”, “Nổi trống lên rừng núi ơi” and “Hát về cây lúa hôm nay”.
In addition, he composed four symphonies (including “Thành đồng Tổ quốc”, 1960, one of the first symphonic poems in Vietnam), the ballet “Chị Sứ” (1968), as well as numerous works for choir, large choir and symphony orchestra, dozens of chamber music pieces, film scores, music for theatre and puppetry, and children’s choral works.
